Customary Government of Biafra/Movement of Biafrans in Nigeria appoint Biafran Envoy to California

The Customary Government of Biafra has appointed an Envoy and Administrator for the Biafrans in the State of California, United States of America. The Customary Government is powered by the Movement of Biafrans in Nigeria (MOBIN).

The Administrator and Envoy is Ifeoma Caroline Nwadike. In a letter of appointment sent to MOBIN MEDIA, the Chairman, Governing Council of the Customary Government of Biafra, Barrister Emeka Emekesiri, said that the appointment, which took effect from November 2020 will last for three years, and may be renewed upon satisfactory performance.

It read in part; “By this appointment, you have become the Director of Biafran Diaspora Affairs in California under the Movement of Biafran in Nigeria (MOBIN) who shall oversee the affairs of all Biafrans resident in California as Nigeria’s citizens or with dual or multiple citizenship of other countries.

“You will liaise with and assist the Government of California in the internal affairs of the Biafran living in California. This is strictly an internal affair touching upon the private lives of Indigenous People of Biafra in the State of California under Customary Law.

“You will encourage Biafrans to participate actively in the politics and socio-economic life of California and win friends.

“The Customary Government recognizes the sovereignty of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and does not oppose the Nigerian Government. The Customary Government is an internal governmental structure for the Biafrans created under the Nigerian Customary Law by Deed of Customary Government which accepts that the Biafrans are Nigerians by citizenship but Biafrans by indigenous identity as provided by the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of the Indigenous Peoples, Res 61/295 of 2007.

The Customary Government is powered by the political arm of the Biafran struggle known as the Movement of Biafrans in Nigeria (MOBIN), the political movement that engages in both national and international politics in the interest of Biafrans.

By this appointment, Nwadike becomes the first Envoy of the Customary Government of Biafra in California.

IPOB opts for restructuring, sends memorandum to NASS

By Dennis Agbo (Vanguard News)

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has disclosed that it sent a memorandum to the National Assembly, requesting for devolution of powers and a restructure of Nigeria into six autonomous regions.

The development was disclosed by the original founder of IPOB, Mr. Emeka Emekesiri in an interview with newsmen on Tuesday in Enugu.

Emekesiri said the decision was taken after the IPOB team made several delegations to the British government asking for assistance in restoration of an independent state of Biafra, but was turned down by the former colonial masters.

He said that what the British preferred instead was for devolution of powers into regions as was contained in Nigeria’s 1963 constitution, adding that Britain said it was still interested in Nigeria remaining as one country.

Emekesiri said that the idea of seeking for Britain’s nod in the re-actualization of Biafra was informed after IPOB sought the assistance of other world powers, which insisted that Britain must be consulted and its opinion established before they could wade into the Biafra matter.

According to Emekesiri “In 2018 we opened up discussion with the British government, we met them three times and the last time, they told us clearly that they want Nigeria to be one, they don’t want Nigeria to break up. Britain has maintained its stand, it said it wants Nigeria to remain as one country.

“So we asked them how do we solve the problem of incompatibility, people of the north east and west unable to leave harmoniously, killing themselves because of differences of ideology and lifestyle. Worldviews are different, how do we do it so that the clashes will stop?

“They asked us for our proposal and said that far as they were concerned they want Nigeria to be one. We were there as Biafrans Living in Nigeria and our Movement is Movement of Biafrans in Nigeria (MOBIN), we are Biafrans in Nigeria. We had made it clear in our suit versus Nigeria that we are Biafrans living in Nigeria. So we are Nigerians by citizenship, but we are Biafrans in indigenous identity.

“We are Biafrians because we were not annihilated during the war and that is clear to both British and Nigeria governments. If Nigeria had annihilated Biafrans the way Romans annihilated Cartage, there wouldn’t have been anybody to talk about Biafra again, but they couldn’t and so we are the remnants of Biafra and we establish our customary government of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra in Nigeria.

“So we approached the British government as Biafrans in Nigeria who surrounded their sovereignty to Nigeria and whose indigenous identity cannot be denied, we are who we are. The British said fine, what do you want? We came back to consult our elders and we drafted a memorandum to be submitted to the British parliament.

“We sat down with elders and said we can’t fight with Britain as world power but that we can as well copy the British nations of nation model that maintain their indigenous identities such as Wales, England, Scotland and Ireland. We went to the British archives and got the British government policy of 1969 and used it to draft a memorandum which we presented to Britain.

“In the memorandum, we accepted that Nigeria should remain one, but that the model as it is in Britain, let be also in Nigeria. The Britain is four nations in one, in Nigeria we want six in one and that is the South East, the South-South, the South West, the North Central, the North West and the North East, that the six geopolitical regions shall now become six nations in one Nigeria and every nation will govern itself in one Nigeria; control your resources, develop at your own pace and we pay an agreed percentage tax to the centre.

“That is the issue of devolution of power or regional government or restructuring that we are talking about now. The politicians call it restructuring but we the Biafra activists are calling it devolution of power to the regions. Ohanaeze Ndigbo raised this issue on June 28 2012 and sent it to the National Assembly, Nigeria government sat on it and refused to implement it and said it will never restructure.

“However, our meeting with the British government paid off and I was not surprised few months ago when I saw a notice from the Senate that it wanted to amend the Nigeria constitution and in the list, item two talked about restructuring and devolution of powers which is our prayer seven in our originating summon already in court. But without prejudice, we prepared our memorandum and filed it with the Senate.

“So the Biafra memorandum for devolution of power to regions is currently with the senate. So, any moment from now when the hearing begins we shall go for the public hearing and defend our proposal. This is the first time in the history of Biafra struggle that the Biafra memorandum has been officially submitted to the Nigerian National Assembly.

“You know you can stay on the street and make noise on the street but at the end of the day, there has to be some documentation to sign and not on the street.

“You have to go to where it matters and right now, the memorandum for devolution of power submitted by the Biafra activists is right now before the senate. That is where we are now and we are waiting.”

Only power devolution can save Nigeria –IPOB founder

From Magnus Eze, Enugu(The Sun Newspapers)

Founder of the Customary Government of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra Nigeria (IPOB)/the Movement of Biafrans in Nigeria (MOBIN), Emeka Emekesiri, has said only restructuring of Nigeria on the bases of devolution of power can save the country from disintegration.

He told newsmen in Enugu, yesterday, that to achieve Biafra; the advocates must dialogue with the world powers starting from Britain, USA and China because they would always want to protect their investments in Nigeria.

He disclosed the group had, in 2018, opened discussion with Britain but they had maintained they wanted Nigeria to remain as one country.

He, however, said the group was already making some progress as the British authorities were not opposed to Nigeria adopting ‘the British model’.

Emekesiri, who also disclosed that MOBIN has submitted a memorandum to the Senate on devolution of power, added that the only law that could guarantee peace and good governance in Nigeria was devolution of power.

“In the memorandum, we accepted that Nigeria should remain one, but that the model as it is in Britain, let it be also in Nigeria. The Britain is four nations in one, in Nigeria, we want six in one and that is the South East, the South South, the South West, the North Central, the North West and the North East, that the six geopolitical regions shall now become six nations in one Nigeria and every nation will govern itself in one Nigeria; control your resources, develop at your own pace and we pay an agreed percentage tax to the centre.

“That is the issue of devolution of power or regional government or restructuring that we are talking about now. The politicians call it restructuring, but we, the Biafra activists, are calling it devolution of power to the regions.

“Ohanaeze Ndigbo raised this issue on June 28 2012 and sent it to the National Assembly, Nigeria Government sat on it and refused to implement it and said it will never restructure.

“However, our meeting with the British government paid off and I was not surprised few months ago when I saw a notice from the Senate that it wanted to amend the Nigeria constitution and in the list, item two talked about restructuring and devolution of powers which is our prayer seven in our originating summons already in court. But without prejudice, we prepared our memorandum and filed it with the Senate.

“So, the Biafra memorandum for devolution of power to regions is currently with the Senate. So, any moment from now, when the hearing begins, we shall go for the public hearing and defend our proposal. This is the first time in the history of Biafra struggle that the Biafra memorandum has been officially submitted to the Nigerian National Assembly.”

IPOB: How Nnamdi Kanu destroyed everything we built – Emeka Emekesiri

Barrister Emeka Emekesiri, the counsel to the Supreme Council of Elders of IPOB, which formed the Customary Government of IPOB, speaks on actions Nnamdi Kanu’s betrayal of the organisation which he hijacked its name and messed up.

He said: “I don’t know how to describe Nnamdi Kanu but without apologies I have come to say that Nnamdi Kanu is the worst evil I have met on earth.

“Tell him I said this. I pray God to give me the ability to forgive that boy.
He destroyed everything we built. He came from MASSOB and joined us in IPOB; I didn’t know who he was. It was just unfortunate.

“I created that name Indigenous People of Biafra and I wrote it in my Book, Biafra or Nigeria Presidency, What Do Igbos Want? and gave reason I called it IPOB.”

He stated that IPOB was meant to be a name for all remnants of Biafra.

“When we created IPOB, it was meant to be named for all remnants of Biafra. It’s not an organization such as the one Nnamdi Kanu went and registered as a limited liability company in UK.

“When he was ostracized from IPOB because of his useless behaviour, he went and used our name, IPOB, and registered it as a limited liability company.
You know, because he is not a lawyer, he didn’t know what I was doing.

“In the first case, I filed, not as a legal entity because you cannot sue a legal entity as it is an amorphous body. With Billie Human Rights Initiative, the Elders of IPOB signed a legal instrument authorizing Bilie Human Rights Initiative to sue on behalf of the Indigenous People of Biafra”.

BIAFRA: MOBIN Chairman says they have taken steps to restore peace to Oyigbo

I write to inform all the people who are concerned and worried about the rivers of blood flowing at Oyigbo or Obigbo that Igbo Leaders have taken the necessary steps to restore peace in the place.

Surely, peace shall return to Obigbo, in fact, peace is returning to Obigbo now as I speak because we have put the machineries in place to restore peace. It shall be well with the people of Obigbo. Surely, Obigbo shall enjoy its peace and tranquillity again. This peace is achieved by the same Igbo Leaders who Nnamdi Kanu directed his followers to kill, disgrace, bury alive and stone to death!

We have taken this step because of the innocent children deceived by the fugitive propagandist. We know that some of the people crying out now were the same people who promoted and sponsored Nnamdi Kanu when the Elders of Biafraland ostracised him from IPOB in 2014 and he formed his own faction. They despised His Lordship, His Royal Majesty, The Honourable Justice Eze Ozobu; they despised Dr Dozie Ikedife; they despised Col Joe Achuzia; they despised Chief Barr Debe Odumegwu Ojukwu, and followed a deceiver. However, we have forgiven everybody who was deceived into the Nnamdi Kanu’s cult.

  1. When I heard that Nnamdi Kanu made an announcement on his Radio and placed a bounty of N100 million on the head of Governor Nyesom Wike, I knew that he had put the lives of our children in danger. He forgot that Governor Wike is a Governor with State Power in whom sovereignty resides and who has the power to exercise prerogative of mercy under Section 212 of the Constitution of Nigeria to decide who dies or who lives among the convicted criminals. He forgot that Governor Wike is a Barrister & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and that no lawyer takes a threat to his life lightly. In fact, a threat to the life of Barrister Nyesom Wike is a threat to all lawyers in the world. What does he want the head of Governor Wike for? Now, Governor Wike has activated and unleashed his powers against innocent people who were deceived by a propagandist living in faraway Europe!
  2. I remembered that when Nnamdi Kanu boasted some years ago that he would go to Abuja and behead President Muhammadu Buhari and bring Buhari’s head to Umuahia, the President could not take the threat lightly and therefore sent some Pythons to dance in Nnamdi Kanu’s compound leading to the death of about 350 innocent people even though he reported 28 including his dog. Obviously, Nnamdi Kanu does not understand the powers of sovereignty conferred on a president or governor.
  3. My heart is bleeding. I write this message from my heart like a grieving father. Sometimes I blame myself for creating IPOB which has been counterfeited into something else. However, it is a well-known fact that thieves of intellectual properties are only interested in counterfeiting good products. Therefore the original IPOB is a good product which the thief of my intellectual property has counterfeited. All the Governments of this world know the original IPOB and the persons behind the original IPOB. Therefore, the ECOWAS COURT ruled in the Case No ECW/CCJ/APP/06/16 that Nnamdi Kanu does not have the mandate to represent IPOB. Of course, he can represent the limited liability company he registered in the UK but he has no mandate to represent INDIGENOUS PEOPLE OF BIAFRA who have been in Court with Nigeria since 2012. The operational name of the original IPOB is the Customary Government of Indigenous People of Biafra (CGIPOB). It is a Government that exists under Customary Law and recognised by the Nigerian Constitution and activated by the Deed Poll of Customary Governance registered under the Nigerian Law just like the Sharia Government in the North exists under the Sharia Law and recognised by the Nigerian Constitution. Therefore, any faction of IPOB that is not recognised by the Customary Government is fake.
  4. Sometimes I blame myself for creating IPOB and accepting Nnamdi Kanu into the Movement. Some people have advised that we should remove the name of IPOB from our name because Nnamdi Kanu has counterfeited and damaged the name. It is like advising Nigeria or Britain to remove the name of the Naira or the Pound Sterling because criminals have counterfeited the name of the currency. Well, the mistake has been made but it can be corrected. The name, INDIGENOUS PEOPLE OF BIAFRA, is the name I coined for all the remnants of Biafra who were not consumed in the war. It is by this name that we commenced the case between Biafra and Nigeria in 2012 in the Suit No FHC/OW/CS/102/2012 in which we sued in a representative capacity because Biafra is not yet sovereign. The name was abbreviated to IPOB by Dr Dozie Ikedife in 2013. It is the name of a non-sovereign nation. It has no membership but subjects of a non-sovereign nation with indigenous database holding its population just like Nigeria has no membership but citizens and its national database. Any person who says that he is a member of IPOB has been deceived into a cult.
  5. The political movement for the Biafrans with membership structure established by a legal instrument under the Nigerian Constitution is the Movement of Biafrans in Nigeria otherwise known as MOBIN which has submitted the Biafran Memorandum to the Nigerian Senate for Devolution of Power to the Regions to create Regional Autonomy for all Nigerians. MOBIN has a membership register and not citizenship database. The Biafran activists who believe in the legal methodology of self-determination consisting of the judicial, political and diplomatic processes are enjoined to apply for membership of MOBIN at www.mobinbiafra.org
  6. The Customary Government of Indigenous People of Biafra issues the Certificates of Indigenous Identity and ID Cards to its subjects while the Nigerian Government issues National ID Cards and Passports to its citizens. The Customary Government has appointed many Customary Government Ambassadors known as Customary Envoys to represent the Biafrans in many nations of the world as a non-sovereign nation residing in sovereign nations under Customary International Law. We have maintained our position that we are Biafrans living in our ancestral homeland in Nigeria.
  7. We have made it clear to the Nigerian Government and the Governments of all the countries of the world that we are Nigerians by citizenship but Biafrans by indigenous identity until we gain independence from Nigeria. This is the position of international law for a non-sovereign nation whose children are scattered in all parts of the world. Nigeria is bound by the rules of both national and international law to protect the lives of the Biafrans living in Nigeria. The Biafrans who believe in us are advised to visit the Customary Government website at www.ipobgovernment.org and put their names in the database and contact us by email addressed to info@ipobgovernment.org for further information.
  8. The Biafrans in Obigbo or Oyigbo are Nigerians by citizenship but cannot deny their indigenous identity as Biafrans. At the moment, Biafra does not have a delimited and delineated territory but it has a defined people. Biafra is a nation but not yet a nation-state. Our people must understand this fact and rule of law and stop being destroyed for lack of knowledge. The place known as Oyigbo or Obigbo is a Nigerian territory by law but there are Biafrans living there. We are not contesting the Oyigbo Territory with the Nigerian Government for now until our case comes for determination in the Court of competent jurisdiction. If the Senate grants our demands as contained in our Memorandum and restructures Nigeria into Regional Autonomy, Oyigbo shall belong to the South-South Region. The lives of our children must not be sacrificed because of the foolishness of Nnamdi Kanu who lives abroad and deceives them with false propaganda. We have therefore requested Governor Wike to sheath his sword and spare our children. In my capacity as the founder and creator of the entity known as INDIGENOUS PEOPLE OF BIAFRA, I apologise to Governor Wike on behalf of the Biafrans who believe in us for the insult and threat to the life of the Governor by the person who has placed a bounty of N100 million on the Governor’s head.

Emeka Emekesiri, Esq, is the Chairman, Movement of Biafrans in Nigeria (MOBIN), and original founder of the Indigenous People of BIAFRA (IPOB) and the Customary Government (CG-IPOB).

#EndSARS: Vote out corrupt politicians, elect Biafrans to power, MOBIN Director, Dr Agbo tells youths

The Director of Political Education and Governance, Movement of Biafrans in Nigeria (MOBIN), Dr. (Evang) Joseph Agbo has called on Biafran youths to mobilize their votes against politicians whose only interest is to embezzle funds and keep the people in penury.

Agbo, in a letter he wrote to MOBIN MEDIA in the spirit of #EndSARS struggle said the time has come for Biafran youths to separate whole grains from chaff and elect only pro-Biafrans into political offices.

He said this has been the message MOBIN has been preaching, for Biafrans to take over the political space of our land and through legislation, diplomacy and legitimate struggle, fast-track the rebirth of Biafra.

His words: “What the protests have shown is that the youths have the power to determine their destinies, for if they withdraw their support from these corrupt politicians, their reign would end. Strong, godly and skillful David will always overthrow wicked, old and corrupt Goliath, even though the latter is 13feet 4inches tall!

“Where there is a will, there will always be a way! Biafran youths arise!

“Biafran youths can see that what MOBIN has been preaching is possible; If only they can come out enmasse, they can put core Biafrans in political authority all over Biafraland and, in the process, retire all these dealers masquerading as leaders – who have stolen us dry.

“I advise Biafran youths to be part of the #EndSARS Protest as Nigerian youths so that there would be no attempt by wicked forces within the Nigerian State to isolate them for attack. However, Biafran youths should not only refuse to be part of the destruction and looting of private and public propervy, but should actually work hard to prevent or stop anyone attempting to do it”, Agbo stated.

EndSARS:You have made your points, please stop destruction, MOBIN DG appeals to youths

The Director General of the Movement of Biafrans in Nigeria, Madam Rita Anigbogu has appealed to youths across Baifra to sheathe their swords and tow the path of peace.

Speaking to MOBIN MEDIA in a telephone interview, Anigbogu advised the youths to be cautious, and apply wisdom while making demand for better living conditions.

She said its unfortunate that thosw who should be the parents of these youths, instead of heeding to their demands, chose instead to mow them down with guns, and stated that despite the unfortunate incidents, things will never be the same again.

Hear her ” Apply wisdom, caution. He who fights and run away will live to fight another day. The youths have made their points, their demands. They have achieved remarkable success. Their fathers have turned their enemies slaughtering them like chickens.

“This is time for them to withdraw and go back to the drawing board.

“I am sure that this destruction was not in their plans when they started the protest. To me this destruction of properties is a kind of distraction. I don’t and will never support the wanton destruction of properties because the end will be disastrous majorly for the poor masses. Banks are destroyed, who will suffer from such destruction, politicians who have personal banks in their living rooms or the poor masses who may not be able to make withdrawals from the banks?

“The burnt police stations, who will suffer from the none availability of stations and police personnel? The rich politicians who have the armed policemen at their beck and call or the poor masses?

“It’s time for the youths to wait and see the outcome of their demands. The Movement of Biafrans in Nigeria is also calling on all youths to get their PVCs and be part of the next elections.

“These people must be voted out, and its in your hands to do”, she stated.

Movement of Biafrans in Nigeria (MOBIN) Condemns the senseless destruction of property, calls for restraint

The Movement of Biafrans in Nigeria (MOBIN) has appealed to youths to end the wanton destruction of property and brigandage ongoing in the country, especially Biafrans.

MOBIN in its release noted that Nigerians and Biafrans alike must channel their energies towards meaningful engagements with the authorities of government, instead of subjecting the entire population to chaos.

MOBIN also regretted the numerous killings that have been witnessed by citizens in the hands of security operatives, especially the ones perpetrated by SARS policemen.

It condemned the killing of protesters in Lagos, but added that unless restraint is exercised, Biafrans and Nigerians will soon begin to turn against each other, without really harmjng the political class who were responsible for the suffering in the country.

It again appealed to the youths to listen to the voice of reason, leave the streets, and get ready to engage the authorities, using legal and diplomatic methods.

“Our voices have been heard loud and clear. At no time have we ever come out united like this in the history of Nigeria or Biafra. But let’s not completely destroy whta we have built ourselves. What we are destroying were built by individuals, through sweat and hard work.

We have presented the Restructuring documents to the National Assembly, and they must attend to it.
It is the Biafran Ideology. Restructure Nigeria now to Regional Autonomy. Every Region to govern itself and develop at its own pace. Every Region to have its own Police.
We have told them that we must restructure and save Nigeria now otherwise Nigeria will disintegrate into oblivion.

Breaking News: Confederation of Independent Football Associations (CONIFA) admits Biafra as member

The Confederation of Independent Football Associations (CONIFA) has admitted Biafra as on of its member states.

This was announced by Chef Ralph Uwazurike, leader of MASSOB-BIM in a video announcement monitored by MOBIN MEDIA.

Uwazurike, while announcing the development stated that the admission would enable Biafrans have an opportunity to participate in all the football tournaments of member states.

His words “We encourage our youths, both male and female to avail themselves of this great opportunity to showcase their talents and become known in the international community. I have briefed two strongline leaders of the Biafran struggle of this wonderful development.

“I just spoke with Ediabali, Alhaji Asari Dokubo, and I also spoke with Barrister Emeka Emekesiri. They are all happy with new development, and we encourage our people to continue in the path of non violence.

“It may interest you to know that UNPO admitted Biafra because of our stance in non violence, and CONIFA informed us that one of the reasons why they admitted us was because we are members of the UNPO. You can now appreciate the importance of non violence in our struggle.

“We have directed the Biafran Minister of Sports to do the needful. Money and influence has no role to play in the selection of people. What matters here is capability and talent. Every Biafran is allowed to participate. The country to be represented is Biafra. Nobody is the owner owner of Biafra. This achievement has been made by all Biafrrans, and all Biafrans will enjoy it”, Uwazurike stated.

CONIFA, the Confederation of Independent Football Associations, is the football federation for all associations outside FIFA.

CONIFA a global acting non-profit organization that supports representatives of international football teams from nations, de-facto nations, regions, minority peoples and sports isolated territories.

CONIFA was founded on the 7th of June 2013, and organized it’s first World Football Cup in June 2014 in Ostersund, Sweden.

CONIFA has 54 member states before Biafra, and information available to MOBIN MEDIA indicates that the nation of Biafra is the 55th member of the global sports association.

It’s earlier scheduled 2020 World Cup, initially meant to hold in North Macedonia from June, was later cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It will now be held in Carreiras, in 2021. Biafra is expected to participate in the upcoming tournament.
