In 2017, the UPP gubernatorial candidate in Anambra State, Chief Osita Chidoka held a meeting with the Directors of MOBIN long before he got the party ticket.

How MOBIN created Biafran Students Union (BIASU) in 2017

In 2017, the Movement of Biafrans in Nigeria (MOBIN) went into its first ever political orientation and mobilization in Anambra State.

Using Biafran insignia and the message of freedom, MOBIN, under the guidance of its chairman, Barrister Emeka Emekesiri, the blessings of the Supreme Council of Elders of the Indigenous People of Biafra, and led by its indefatigable Director General, Comrade Rita Anigbogu, MOBIN went from hamlet to hamlet, village to village, community to community and city to city, and toured the length and breadth of the state.

While MOBIN preached the benefits of political alignment by Biafrans, the Nnamdi Kanu led IPOB preached the opposite.

But MOBIN had a positive message and despite being a brand new, virtually unknown organisation, it quickly won the hearts of Ndị Anambra who embrace the idea of a Biafran Government and administration right in Nigeria, with Nigerian paraphernalia of government.

The acceptance was so massive that students in Biafraland began to join the organisation.

By the time the Anambra State governorship polls was held, the Biafran Students Union(BIASU) had sprang up under the direction of Comrade Rita Anigbogu (DG).

In Federal Polytechnic, Oko and ATCOI College of Education Enugu, the organisation became operational.
